LNLS - Laboratório Nacional de Luz Síncrotron

How to submit a proposal

All the academic research proposals must be submitted through the SAU Online. The following guidelines on how to submit the proposals are applicable exclusively to the public domain researches conducted by research/education teams from Brazil and abroad.

Before submitting a research proposal, users are advised to visit the LNLS webpage to check out the available services and technologies, as well as recommendations about the sample preparations, protocols and other detailed specifications about the research proposal submission process.

Research proposals for LNLS should be submitted during a specified schedule. We usually announce submission calls twice a year, one for each semester. Information about submission calls is sent to users by email and is published in LNLS website.

Submitting a Research Proposal

The submission process for LNLS is divided in two steps: Users Registration and Research Proposal Submission. Each step can be carried out independently.

The Users Registration: this step is only required at the first access to the SAU Online, but provided information can be updated at any time. The user must choose the option “To create a new account click here“. At his first access, the user will be asked to provide personal and professional information.

Submitted research proposal will be forwarded automatically to the User Service Support (sau@cnpem.br). We recommend to the users evaluating the technical feasibility of the project before submitting a research proposal. Once it is submitted, evaluation of all research proposals will follow a standard procedure.
