The Environmental Science Laboratory (LCA) is a support infrastructure dedicated to the preparation and chemical manipulation of environmental samples for studies conducted in the beamlines of Sirius. Classified as Biosafety Level 1 (BSL-1), the laboratory is equipped with specialized facilities to fulfill different analytical and experimental demands.
Located in the Axis 38, near to the Carnaúba beamline, the LCA features advanced equipment for environmental simulations, plant cultivation, soil and rock manipulation, cryopreservation, and microbiological studies focused on environmental research.

The main area of the LCA is a chemical laboratory designed for handling and preparing environmental samples, such as fossils, plants, soils, rocks, among others. This area disposes of supplies and infrastructure for chemical manipulation, plant cultivation, and film preparation. For this, the LCA is equipped with:
Environment for chemical manipulations
The Porous Materials Analysis Laboratory (LAMP) is dedicated to the soils and rock samples preparation for studying in the Sirius beamlines. The LAMP main purpose is being a facility for understanding the soil compaction dynamics, porosity, water retention and extraction, under different pressure conditions. For this, LAMP is equipped with:
General view of LAMP.
The Bacterial Cultivation Laboratory (LCB) is a specialized environment for the cultivation and manipulation of environmental microorganisms, which are previously isolated from the environment and have a low degree of pathogenicity. The LCB is equipped with:
