Sirius School for High School Teachers

The Sirius School for High School Teachers (ESPEM) offers teachers and teachers of high school physics immersion in the frontier research and development atmosphere of the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM). The School is financed by the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations (MCTI) with resources from the “Science at School” project and carried out in partnership with the Brazilian Physics Society (SBF).

The school, which lasts 5 days, has expository classes, computer and experimental demonstrations, visits to the new Brazilian synchrotron light source, Sirius, and to CNPEM National Laboratories. In addition to discussions with scientists, participants also can have contact and exchange experiences with other fellow professors from all over Brazil.
