Beamline Design

The Beamline Design group is responsible for the engineering of optical components and experimental stations for each beamline of the synchrotron light source Sirius, at the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS).

The group works in constant interaction with researchers and several of LNLS’ technical groups to transform the requirements of the different experiments into engineering specifications that can be developed in an integrated manner by the different teams.

It is part of the group’s expertise: multiphase modeling (structural, thermal, fluid, vacuum, dynamics and control); Mechanical metrology; prototyping and validation tests in ultra-high vacuum, cryogenics, radiation and dynamic conditions; development and improvement of manufacturing processes; procurement and manufacture of components and parts; assembly of highly complex components.
