The Support, Operation, and Maintenance Group (SOM) at LNLS is dedicated to integrating multidisciplinary technical expertise to manage assets, support operations, and enhance the availability and reliability of the LNLS scientific facilities. The team serves as an interface and mediator with other groups to ensure the integrated operation of the facilities. It is responsible for providing level 1 support, working on the diagnosis and resolution of issues in various areas such as vacuum control, control software, automation, mechatronics, utilities, control infrastructure, and electrical installations (220V, 380V, UPS). The group manages the technical inventory, performs maintenance on scientific facilities, and collaborates with multiple teams on system and equipment improvements.
