Control Software

Control Software group develops software for the operation of Sirius accelerators and beamlines. This includes middleware for communication with equipment, desktop, and web user interfaces, information systems that support operation, and scripts for experiment orchestration and data acquisition and visualization.

Software technologies employed in Sirius are mostly open source, such as the EPICS framework (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System), the Linux operating system, and the Python programming language. As a general rule, internal developments are released to the community.

The group works closely with users and other engineering teams throughout the systems life cycle, aiming to address all demands and ensure a reliable operation of the facilities.
