Guesthouse, Restaurant, and other facilities

The Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS), through CNPEM’s User Support Service, makes available to users a guesthouse, restaurant and other facilities to those performing some kind of regular activity on campus.

GUESTHOUSE

The Guesthouse is designed for the exclusive use of guests with research proposals being carried out on campus.

Availability: The availability of vacancies in the guesthouse follows the defined priority rules below:

  1. Users who have received financial support;
  2. Users with ongoing proposals which have their beamtime extended into the night shift;
  3. Users who requested a reservation in the SAU Online system

Guesthouse: The guesthouse is located on the CNPEM campus and has 23 en suite double rooms with hot water, air conditioning and a work desk with internet connection. The guesthouse has a common area with kitchen, laundry and TV lounge. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave oven and a fridge exclusive for food. There is no fee for parking. The accommodation offers bed linen and bath, plus cleaning service.

Rates: The daily rate is BRL 55.00 (Real, Brazilian currency) per person in double room. Meals are not included. Full payment of the hosting period is made by the guest at check-in directly to User Support Service, obeying the service hours from 8am to 5pm (UTC-3), Monday to Friday. Payment can be made in cash (BRL), by debit card or bank transfer.

Reservation: To make your reservation, visit the SAU Online system. Participants of events hosted on campus cannot request reservations at the CNPEM guesthouse.

Rules: 

  • Food: Guests are prohibited of eating or storing food in the rooms.
  • Equipment: Guests are not allowed to use clothes irons, portable stoves and heaters in the rooms.
  • Silence: Guests are requested to keep quiet at any time while in the guesthouse.
  • Irregularities: Irregularities observed in the accommodation facilities should be reported to User Support Service.

RESTAURANT

The CNPEM campus has a Restaurant for staff and visitors to the campus.

Working Hours:
  • Breakfast: Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 9 am (UTC-3).
  • Lunch: Monday to Friday, from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm (UTC-3).
  • Dinner*: Monday to Friday, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm (UTC-3).
  • Cafeteria*: Monday to Friday from 7 am to 9:30 pm (UTC-3).

Users with financial support have their lunch costs credited on their ID badge. Other meals are not covered by the financial support and must be paid directly to the restaurant.

*Services available seasonally according to demand.

LIBRARY

The Library is located in the Administration Building. The bibliographic collection consists of books, manuals, electronic media, standards, journals, proceedings and theses.

AMBULATORY FACILITY

CNPEM has a first aid service at the ambulatory facility.
